An amazing Caddie Register from this premiere Surrey Golf Club from January 1913 through to 11th August. Compiled by the legendary Scottish Caddie Master James Sheriden, it includes many hundreds of hand written entries. Effectively a snap shot of social history of the pre-WW1 era they show the golfer, his or her caddie, what rounds they played and what fee they paid. A day to day history of this famous club they still keep a caddie register to this very day - and have admitted this would be the oldest. From Queen Victoria's son & daughter, to Samuel Ryder, it includes Royalty - Gentry - Politicians - Noted Golf Professionals - Military and Lady members of the club. The large journal is in remarkably good condition. A genuine piece of golfing history. Its provinance comes from a decendent of Jack White, 1904 Open Champion and longtime Sunningdale professional. 444-handwritten pages. Remarkable item.
